Did You Know: Two Outstanding Texarkana Educators Honored

Speaking of Second to None… Did You Know? TWO Outstanding Texarkana Educators Honored: TASD Charter School Principal Terry Taylor and TISD Middle School Principal Tim Lambert Terry Taylor, Associate Principal of the Washington Academy Charter School in the Texarkana Arkansas School District, was recently named the state of Arkansas’ Association of Alternative Educators Administrator of the Year. The campus offers junior high and high school students an alternate academic pathway to success. Since the implementation of the charter school in 2013, Mr. Taylor and his team of teachers and partners have guided, facilitated and pushed when needed, over 218 students to graduation. Beyond his dedication to his students, Mr. Taylor is also dedicated to our community: He is the pastor of Church of the Living God in Texarkana, AR, and currently serves as the president of the Twin Cities Ministerial Alliance. Mr. Taylor served as a Board of Trustees of Texarkana College, Board of Directors for Teen Court, and Texarkana Arkansas Adult Education board member. Tim Lambert, Principal of Texas Middle School, has been selected to represent the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) as the Region VIII Outstanding Middle School Principal of the Year. School administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions, based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership. Tim has been principal of TMS since 2013, coming to TISD from his tenure as Principal of Atlanta High School from 2011-2013, where he was named the TASSP Region VIII High School Principal of the Year in 2013.
