Spotlight On

1. How to Protect Yourself and Others
When attending any event in our community, follow Governor Abbott’s and Governor Hutchinson’s guidelines set for the states of Texas and Arkansas. Wear your mask, social distance, wash your hands frequently, limit the size of your gatherings, or stay home.

2. Harvest Regional Food Bank Mobile Pantry
Wednesday, July 15 | 8AM-12PM
Located at the Four States Fair Arena, spread the word! 1000 food boxes will be distributed to families in need! One per household, pantry boxes include a box each of fresh vegetables, frozen meats, and shelf-stable pantry items. Enter by the Gazebo and call to volunteer or go online to contribute.

3. Sea Turtle Mosaics
Saturday, July 18
Hawaii has a vast array of wildlife, but today we will be focusing on the Sea Turtle by creating Sea Turtle Mosaics. Sea turtles are seen as a sacred animal in the Hawaiian culture. While creating our turtles we will discuss facts about them as well as how Hawaiian are helping these endangered animals alive. The event will be on July 18th from 2:00-3:00 PM and will be $5 per person and FREE for TMS Members and children 3 & under. To register in advance go to www.TexarkanaMuseums.org/Events.

4. Back to Basics Yoga
Saturday, July 18
If you are just starting yoga or want to refine your skills this is a class for you! Donya will give instructions on basic poses, alignment, and modifications. This class is free but must sign up in advance! Learn more here.

5. Take the Kids to Holiday Springs Water Park
Texarkana’s premier family waterpark featuring water slides, a kids pool, lazy river and Paradise Lagoon. Learn more!

7. Free COVID Testing
Thursday, July 16
Healthy Connections is bringing Free Covid-19 Testing to the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana, Ark., on Thursday, July 16. We’ll be there from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 3700 E. 50th St., in Texarkana. No insurance is needed or will be asked for. No symptoms are required. Just show up, drive through, and get tested. Learn more!
