TISD’s  Theron Jones Early Literacy Center recently received highest honor and designation as a Lighthouse Campus in the Covey Leader in Me network, joining TISD’s Nash Elementary Campus with this exciting hallmark of educational excellence.

According to their website, Covey’s Leader in Me (LiM) program is “an evidence-based, comprehensive school improvement model—developed in partnership with educators—that empowers students with the leadership and life-skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.”

From a related article about Lighthouse campuses:  “The Lighthouse Certification is a highly-regarded standard set by FranklinCovey that is attainable by every Leader in Me school. As it is a significant benchmark, applying for this certification typically occurs four to five years after a school begins the Leader in Me process. The certification is evidence that schools have produced outstanding results in school and student outcomes, by implementing the process with fidelity and excellence. It is also because of the extraordinary impact that the schools may be having on staff, students, parents, and the greater community.”

Congratulations to ALL at TISD and with the Theron Jones Campus who have worked to achieve this honored designation – in particular the students who are part of Leading the Way! Learn more about the honors related to being a Lighthouse School.
