6. Disney World Amusement Park Challenge
Saturday, January 9

This year the Texarkana Museums System is celebrating their 50th anniversary, so we are looking back at the year 1971. Did you know Disney World opened its gates to Magic Kingdom for the first time in 1971? To celebrate Disney World’s 50th, we are challenging kids to create the blueprints for their very own amusement park. Kids will be given a list of tasks that must be incorporated into their park-like; there must be more than one bathroom, there must be at least one water ride, etc. The challenge will be on January 9th from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the Museum of Regional History. Admission is $5 per person and FREE for TMS Members and children 3 and under. Purchase tickets at www.TexarkanaMuseums.org/Events. We encourage purchasing tickets in advance but it’s not required.
